The difference between someone who puts a little time into something on the side, versus someone making it their main focus is massive.
The reason why you will always have an edge over others by simply doing that is that the gap is about risk (financial stability, uncertainty, etc).
People underestimate how little more you have to do over others because of that gap that exists in most peoples’ mind.
It is also why you can make a bunch of money in an industry everyone think is doomed to fail.
